Rental Terms

We love our carts, and we are sure you’ll love them too. To ensure your safety and prevent cart damage, we ask you to follow all San Pedro Traffic Regulations and Coconut Carts Belize terms, conditions and rental policies. By following these rules, you ensure yourself a safe and others a comfortable driving experience in San Pedro and allow us to continue to provide the high level of service we wish to offer to all our customers.

Drivers must hold a valid license
No drinking and driving
No parking on red painted curbs
Obey seating capacity
Observe speed limits
Use hand signals when turning
Lock cart when parked

Coconut Carts Belize Terms and Conditions

Only drivers age 21 and over with a valid driver’s license can rent our golf carts
Drivers must always carry a valid driver’s license when using the cart
No driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
No more than 4 people on a 4-seater golf cart
No more than 6 people on a 6-seater golf cart
No driving on the airport runway.
No parking within less than 30 feet from all street corners in town
No parking in taxi zones
No towing of trailers or other golf carts
Carts can not to be taken further than 7.2 miles (X'Tan Ha Resort) on the north side of San Pedro Town

Obey speed limits:

10 miles per hour in residential areas
15 miles per hour in nonresidential areas

Rental Policies

AREA OF OPERATION - Cart Delivery
North - 3 miles - Belizean Shores Resort
South - 3 miles - Pelican Reef Villas Resort
Outside of Area - $50 USD Drop & $50 USD Pickup Fee per Cart
Tow/Service Fee - Outside of Area - $150 USD

Fuel

All carts are rented with a full fuel tank and renters will return the cart with the same amount. Renters agree to pay Coconut Carts Belize for carts returned with less than a full tank as follows:

• ¼ tank – US$10
• ½ tank – US$20
• ¾ tank- US$30
• Full tank – US$40

(Fuel prices may vary according to market trends.)

Damages

I agree to return cart in the same order and condition as when it was received.
I agree to be responsible for any and all damages caused to the cart while in my possession. By signing this contract, I hereby authorize Coconut Carts Belize to charge my credit card for any damages incurred, fuel used or additional time if the cart is not returned by the agreed time. I agree that any of these expenses incurred and charged to my credit card are final and that I shall not employ the services of my credit card company as a means settling any dispute related to this matter. I agree to return the vehicle at the designated time or before and accept that there will be no refund for any unused time. I agree to pay the agreed rate for any extra time I have kept the vehicle.

Liability

I take full responsibility for any accident or loss arising from the use of this cart, however caused, including theft, property damage, personal injury or wrongful death and agree to indemnify and hold blameless Coconut Carts Belize. I exempt and release Coconut Carts Belize and its agents, representatives, or employees from any and all liability whatsoever arising from my use of this cart.

Maintenance

No other person unless authorized by Coconut Carts Belize, may carry out any repair or alteration to the cart.

Other Drivers

I declare that the cart will be for my private and personal use and agree not to pass this cart on to any other person to use. I assume full responsibility for any other person whom I allow to drive this vehicle. The additional driver must provide a Valid Driver's License and Credit Card Security Deposit prior to driving said Coconut Cart.

General Rules

1. Carts can not be taken further than 7.2 miles (X'Tan Ha Resort) on the north side of San Pedro Town. A US$150.00 fee will be charged if the cart has to be towed back.
2. Abide by all road rules and traffic laws. If ticketed, I agree to pay for the said ticket at the San Pedro Town Office (2nd Floor) - Barrier Reef Drive prior to my departure. For example: Do not park on Red Curbs and within 30 feet of an intersection.
3. Ensure your golf cart is locked when not in use with the locking bar provided. Loss of keys or lock - US$50.00.
4. Minimum driver’s age – 21 years - Valid Driver's License in your possession at all times.
5. No overloading of the cart (4 person max for 4-seaters, 6 person max for 6-seaters)
6. No Drinking and Driving - No driving while intoxicated.
7. No driving on the airport runway.
8. No towing of trailers or other golf carts.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Full refund if canceled 30+ days prior to arrival. 50% refund if canceled 7-14 days prior to arrival. No refund if canceled less than 7 days prior to arrival. A 6% handling fee will be charged for all refunds. No refunds for no-shows or unused portions of rental. There will be no refunds due to airline delays, strikes, political unrest or Acts of God, including Hurricanes. Travel insurance is recommended and can be purchased through Travel Guard International - www.travelguard.com.
